Dawn Derenburger, A.S., R.T.(R)(M)(ARRT), resides in North Carolina. She has served a variety of roles as a Mammography Technologist, to include Director of Mobile Mammography, Lead Technologist for the University of Virginia and Mammography Team Leader at CRL Women’s Imaging Center in Edina, Minnesota, where she trained staff on Stereotactic Breast Biopsy, evaluated workflow, updated and developed policies and procedures, and directed the Lead Technologist on the accreditation and inspection processes. She also worked as an Interim Manager at the University of California San Francisco and assisted in the relocation of the Department into a new facility in Mission Bay.
She has worked as a travel technologist at the Virginia Piper Breast Center in Minneapolis. Prior to traveling, she worked as the Lead Technologist at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway, Maine.
Dawn is passionate about what she does and enjoys sharing her knowledge with others. She often lectures at National Conferences and also co-writes the Technologist Column for the Society of Breast Imaging quarterly newsletter.
Her expertise includes mammography positioning, stereotactic biopsies (utilizing upright, prone, and tomosynthesis), needle localizations, quality control, MQSA and ACR accreditation, policy and procedure development, and workflow analysis as well as EQUIP policy planning and implementation. She has received mentorship and training from Louise Miller, RTRM and works as a colleague and consultant for Mammography Educators. Dawn enjoys and aspires to share her knowledge and expertise with others and looks forward to acting as a role model for the future generation of mammographers.
Dawn resides in North Carolina. She vacations in her home state of Maine where she has two daughters and five grandchildren. She enjoys time with family and friends, travel, adventure, and the outdoors.
